I’ve been generating lots of wreath blocks through test stitch outs of designs and threw a quick quilt together using a few of them. These center blocks are all 13 1/2 inches square with 10 inch diameter wreaths and the four cornerstone blocks are 6 inches square with 4 inch diameter wreaths. This is what the backside of the quilt top looked like before it was placed into the final quilt sandwich:
All eight of the wreaths have a trapunto layer. The large wreaths have a wool trapunto layer and the small wreaths have a polyester trapunto layer. I’m assuming that they will “poof out” at different levels but only time will tell. I haven’t quilted at all outside the center section yet, but here’s what the center section looks like after my outlining w/invisible thread and establishing a quilting design surrounding the wreaths:
I’m loving how that straight line quilting is looking and some of those channels will be filled in with different quilting designs. here are a few shots of wreaths were you get a little sense of the “poofiness:”
and the inlined hearts hyperquilted wreath:
…and the asymmetric inlined curley cue wreath:
I can’t wait to spend more time on this quilt!

Hi Patsy……your stitching is so yummy and inspiring. It has been a long time since I have been in touch, but I am always following your work on your blog. Nobody does thread work like you do! Thanks for keeping me inspired!
