A Little Light in an Otherwise Bleak Saturday

We awakened Saturday to cold temperatures, dying flowers outside and a very bleak, damp, and  overcast day.  I had to create some blooming life in my sewing room to counter the oppressive level of dreariness.  It started with this…
I cut about 99% of my applique shapes using the little Big Shot.  I went to work on a wide variety of red and pink batiks and ended up with this:
There are 3 shapes that comprise each small tulip shape.  I sort them by shape and keep them in little ziplock bags.  This way, I have loads of different color combinations to choose from when I’m picking the shapes for each tulip.  Then I moved from my cutting table to my embroidery machine and started the project…
The shot above was how it looked at the end of hooping 1.  Three hooping later, this is what emerged:
Not bad for the first stitch out of a new design! I need to make a few changes but this is looking pretty good to me!
Store update 10/6/14 @ 2:20 pm EDST:  Due to the overwhelming response to our clearance sale and the backlog of orders that need to be filled, we have shut down the portion of our store that holds products not made by Patsy Thompson Designs.  Thank you for shopping with us over the years!

Absolutely beautiful. And such perfect placement.

What a wonderful sale. Is there a deadline for this sale to end? I’ll gladly help to increase awareness, but wanted to check on the deadline first.
